FOMO
When I looked away from the screen, I saw trees.
When I looked away from the screen, I noticed a few kids playing in joy.
When I looked away from the screen, I saw one of the kids smiling at me.
When I looked away from the screen, I had thoughts.
When I looked away from the screen, I tried to contemplate the real and the virtual world.
When I looked away from the screen, I realized how my real world has become a shadow of my virtual world.
When I looked away from the screen, I realized how likes and hearts have trivialized listening and understanding.
When I looked away from the screen, I saw most of the people looking at their screens.
And so when I looked away from the screen, with the fear of missing out, I felt the urge to look back at the screen again.
